After deliberating more than a day, Madison County jury convicted Keith Natiel Ashley Rogers of murder for the shooting death of Jason McDonald, 20, of Madison. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Randy Dill.

Jury Finds Dancy Guilty of Rape

Roderic Dancy was found guilty of first degree rape in a case where the victim was abducted, tortured and sexually assaulted. Assistant District Attorneys Leann White and Tim Gann prosecuted the case. Judge Laura Hamilton will sentence Dancy next month.

Jury in Shipp case recommends life without parole

At approx. 6:38 PM Friday, the jury in the Kenneth Shipp case recommended a life sentence without parole in a 9-3 vote.

Judge Williams has set Shipp's sentencing date as March 26, 2010 at 9:00 AM.

Thursday afternoon, the jury found Kenneth Shipp guilty of capital murder in the death of Huntsville police officer Eric Freeman. The jury returned with the verdict just before 2pm.

Just as jury selection was set to begin in the murder trial of Tarry Garner, the defense and prosecution reached a plea agreement.

Garner pled gulity to felony murder in the shooting death of innocent bystander Bridget Lacy during a dispute.

Ms. Lacy was a passenger in a vehicle that Garner fired into. He received a sentence of 25 years, with no option to appeal. In addition, he will be required to pay victim compensation costs of approximatley $13,000 plus additional fines and fees.
