Jury in Shipp case recommends life without parole

At approx. 6:38 PM Friday, the jury in the Kenneth Shipp case recommended a life sentence without parole in a 9-3 vote.
Judge Williams has set Shipp's sentencing date as March 26, 2010 at 9:00 AM.

Thursday afternoon, the jury found Kenneth Shipp guilty of capital murder in the death of Huntsville police officer Eric Freeman. The jury returned with the verdict just before 2pm.
Assistant District Attorney honored by Partnership for a Drug-Free Community

On October 28, 2009, Assistant District Attorney James Tolleson was presented the Law Enforcement Award at the annual lucheon of Partnership for a Drug-Free Community. Tolleson, a long-time presecutor assigned to the Drug Unit, joined the DA's office in 1992.
Securities Fraud Nets Butler 75 years

On September 11, 2009, James L. "Jamey" Butler, disbarred attorney who ran his familty's Jailbusters bonding business, was sentenced by Judge Brian Howell to 75 years in prison for Securities Fraud.
